Center for Advanced Pelvic Surgery

A department dedicated to High-Complexity Advanced Pelvic Surgery.
A Center that represents a point of reference for both European patients and doctors from all over the world.

Endoscopic Advanced Pelvic Surgery Center
of the MALZONI RESEARCH HOSPITAL

The Malzoni Research Hospital has made a bold entrepreneurial decision by creating a highly specialized department dedicated to High-Complexity Advanced Pelvic Surgery, named “Endoscopic”.

The department is equipped with an operating block featuring four state-of-the-art “integrated” OR1 STORZ operating rooms with the latest 3D/4K technology for minimally invasive surgery, along with three additional rooms for Day-Surgery procedures. It also includes a ward with 18 beds (first and second class) offering private services and a fully dedicated team of medical and nursing staff.

It is among the centers of excellence specialised in the treatment of endometriosis and serves as a reference center within the regional oncology network (MALZONI CANCER CENTER).

The Center is a reference point for European patients and doctors worldwide. International agreements are in place for training physicians and specialists in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

The Endoscopic Advanced Pelvic Surgery Center stands out for the high volume of cases treated, the extremely low average length of hospital stay, and excellent surgical outcomes. The facility aims to combine a high number of surgical procedures with a strong focus on patient care, offering medical expertise, nursing assistance, and continuous technological advancements.

The KARL STORZ OR1TM technology gives the surgeon absolute control over their working environment.

The Operating Room

The name “Operating Room” is intended to designate it as the forerunner of a new generation of “intelligent” operating rooms. The surgery performed daily in cutting-edge centers today is very different from that of the past.
This minimally invasive surgery is increasingly becoming video-assisted surgery, which requires an entirely new range of specific technologies. As a result, the traditional operating room layout is no longer suitable for these new needs.

Thanks to exclusive computerized integration systems, the KARL STORZ OR1TM technology now gives the surgeon absolute and direct control over their working environment: the operating room. By issuing simple commands, the operator can manage all electrosurgical equipment, all related environmental functions, and all available communication modes, using interconnected rooms equipped with 3D/4K technology and specialized equipment for ICG (Indocyanine Green) evaluation of specific surgical phases (sentinel lymph node, assessment of intestinal, ureteral, vaginal, and bladder vascularization).

OR1TM, in its highest sense, represents Integration, Control, Safety, Documentation, and Communication.

The Malzoni Research Hospital is a healthcare facility affiliated with the National Health SystemDepartment

Hospital Accommodation
Malzoni Research Hospital S.p.A. is affiliated with the National Health System, which means that accommodation in shared rooms is provided at no cost to the patient. If the patient desires greater privacy, a first-class accommodation option is available for an additional fee, offering a private room with a bed for an accompanying person. Due to high demand for single rooms, it is recommended to make a reservation during the pre-admission phase. All rooms are equipped with a TV, telephone, minibar, and Wi-Fi. In first-class rooms, visiting hours are unrestricted for visitors.

What to Bring
The rooms are furnished with a bedside table and a wardrobe where personal belongings can be stored.

Discharge
Upon discharge, in the case of a stay in a private room, the patient must visit the front desk to settle the class difference fee for the room and, if desired, request a duplicate of the medical record. To do so, a specific form must be completed, and the corresponding fee must be paid. Duplicates of medical records and reports of any histological/cytological examinations can be collected from the administration offices.

Visiting Hours
In shared rooms, patients can receive family and visitors every day from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM.

Clinics
The center has dedicated outpatient clinics for preoperative counseling, patient admission, and discharge consultations.
