Dear Colleagues,

The next SEGi National Congress will take place in Rome from September 23 to 26, 2026, focusing on gynecological endoscopy—a field that has undergone profound technological and conceptual evolution in recent years, transforming from a diagnostic tool into a standard of care in gynecology. More recently, artificial intelligence (AI) has emerged as a strategic resource capable of supporting clinical decision-making, optimizing diagnostic and therapeutic pathways, and improving the quality of care.

The contemporary paradigm of gynecologic surgery is increasingly shifting towards therapeutic de-escalation—understood as a reduction in surgical invasiveness and the targeted selection of treatments—and towards the individualization of care based on scientific evidence and a multidisciplinary patient assessment. In this context, the integration of advanced endoscopy and AI algorithms offers novel prospects: ranging from the automated analysis of intraoperative images and the prediction of surgical outcomes to support in planning conservative or fertility-sparing strategies.

The congress aims to foster dialogue with the objective of:

  • to explore in depth technological innovations in diagnostic and operative endoscopy;
  • discuss the role of AI in personalizing therapeutic choices;
  • explore de-escalated surgery models, supported by predictive data and evidence-based approaches.

The ultimate goal is to foster an integrated vision of modern gynecological endoscopy that combines innovation, safety, and sustainability, while upholding the centrality of the patient and the quality of care.
